Ronald Reagan Centennial
There will be a year-long celebration next year celebrating President Reagan's 100th birthday, which was Feb. 6, 1911. Part of the significance of Reagan's birthday celebration is that it will not be celebrated using the taypayers' $$ as have so many other presidents' 100-year birthdays. From CBSNews.com:"Most of the events staged in the past to celebrate the bicentennial or centennial of a U.S. president or first lady were paid for with money appropriated by Congress. But the proclamation signed by President Barack Obama last year to set up a commission for the Reagan centennial does not require federal funding."I think Reagan would want it that way, don't you?
What do you think of Ronald Reagan on the Fifty Dollar Bill?
I just heard that people in congress are considering putting Ronald Reagan's face on the Fifty Dollar bill. I guess it is in celebration of one hundred years of his birthdate. I thought it might be a good idea, yet I also know people are accustomed to having President Ulysses S. Grant. Do you think this is okay to do? Who do you think has a better picture or profile?
Help me out here: is Sarah Palin like Ronald Reagan? Is she "the next Reagan"?
I can't see the connection myself... how is Palin like and unlike former President Reagan.Could she be the new voice of the Republican party?
President Ronald Reagan message for all Americans today!!!
President Reagan is considered by many millions as our beloved president,Barack Obama told us during his long campaign he is like Ronald Regan which was very refreshing to millions of Americans. Sarah Palin Guest Speaker@50th anniversary gala @ Ronald Reagan Library Aug 8
Sarah Palin will be the guest speaker at the Ronald Regan library gala on August 8,2009. Republican Women Federated invitation only event will have about 900 people which will be held at the cavernous pavilion that houses the former president’s jet, Air Force One. Sarah I expect will be the guest speaker at events all across the United States, she won't lack invitations from talk host to television interviews and I have heard rumors Sarah has been offered her own talk show,it will be electrifying watching Sarah uplift women and children in our country that have been very much left behind, please join me in wishing Sarah Palin life's very best in what ever she choose to do in the day's and year's ahead.(REPUBLICAN WOMEN FEDERATED 50TH ANNIVERSARY GALA)Republican Women Federated of Simi Valley spokeswoman Pat Saraceno said the invitation-only event will be closed to the media. Several hundred people have already confirmed they plan to attend the gala, which costs $100 for members and $150 for invited nonmembers. The master of ceremonies for the event will be conservative radio talk-show host and filmmaker John Ziegler.

A Blast from the Past
At the 1964 Republican Convention, Ronald Reagan made a speech that still has a great deal of relevance for us today( his 1976 speech wasn't bad either). Exerpts from the speeches are on YouTube. I think these speeches are a refreshing "blast from the past. "What do you think? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FskEpUpbou4
Ronald Reagan Said Lesser Government,Obama Say's Bigger,So Who Is Right?
Obama identified with our beloved presidents Abraham Lincoln,Ronald Reagan,John F.Kennedy, which one these famous presidents is Obama closer to in governing the people,Lincoln,Reagan,Kennedy?Ronald Reagan thought lesser govenment in the peoples face was a better idea,Obama say's more govenment in the people's face, two opinions from two president but who is right? (Latest Rsmussen Report Below)Fifty-one percent (51%) say it’s a good idea to raise taxes on those earning more than $250,000 a year. An identical number say it’s a bad idea to nationalize even those banks at risk of failing. The President is using his popularity to try and convince Americans that government has a bigger and more positive role to play in the life of the nation. New polling data shows he still has work to do on that front—59% still agree with Ronald Reagan’s assertion that “Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.”http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_po
Ronald Reagan Said
The nine most terrifying words in the english language are,"I'm from the govermment and I'm here to help". was the first thing you did after read this? If you are like me, you counted the words. Did you? I like Ronald Reagan but, i think it's in my nature.
FDR or Ronald Reagan
Both Presidents inherited an economy on the brink, but the two decided to handle the economy totally differently. The Great Depression began with the Great Crash of 1929. By 1931, unemployment had reached 16 percent. By 1933, 89 percent of stock value had been wiped out, the economy had shrunk by one-third, thousands of banks had closed, a third of the money supply had vanished, and unemployment had reached 25 percent. FDR's answer was vast federal spending, tough new regulations on business and higher taxes. What did that accomplish nothing except keep the American economy depressed. The Jimmy Carter era was the worst economy since the great depression interest rates had reached 21 percent and inflation 13 percent which we call stagflation. This is what Ronald Reagan inherited. His answer was the tight money policy of the Fed and across the board tax cuts of 25 percent, while slashing the highest rates from 70 percent to 28 percent. What did that accomplish a boom that created 20 million jobs and has been credited as America's seven fat years. So which one would you choose?
