Daily Discussions on Presidential Debates 1976 DVD| Presidential Debates are just waste of time?! What?!>:-( | | Hello Lotters, It seemed i may have to break my promise of going on entirely with my life and leaving this politically insane Election period to it's course. I went to face book and log-in to the my chosen candidate fan page to see some updates. I don't know if my blood pressure was raised or something but i felt rage inside while being silent for almost ten minutes. Why? The Presidential candidate who is TOP in the surveys said"Debates are just waste of time" he even said it's completely waste of time and doesn't believe that people are watching, Duh! Is he dreaming?[em]thumbdown[/em]Not a referral Link.http://www.journal.com.ph/index.php/top-stories/5028-noynoy-debates-just-waste-of-time.htmlFirst, he flip-flops on two issues like the RH bill and Tax increase. Okay, am clear with that because some US lotters told me that Politicians do change positions on issues "AFTER" they're in position, well, i understand that. But Now, another interview stating by the TOP Survey CAndidate himself that "he won't be attending any more debates. so, is this the kind of President that I want, who backs down from a civil debate simply because he sheltered...
| | Watching Philippines Presidential Debates. Have you? | | Hello Lotters[em]happy[/em], Before the Presidential Debates, there was only proclamations and commercial tv ads about these candidates. Personally, i thought Noynoy and Villar were really the salvation for the country. Not! but during the first few debates conducted by ABS, i noticed that other candidates had more substance than the so-called popular people in the so-called Presidential Survey.[em]thumbdown[/em]I've been watching it in youtube and it gives you clear sense of choice of whom should you really vote for this coming 2010. but i noticed that some where along the program, the Media was bit bias in this.
just watch the whole video and you will notice it. As for me, I have already a candidate in Mind[em]happy[/em]What ever your comment or response just put it here.have a great dayNot a referral Link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gbf8d0L2-M
| | Did you find the presidential debates as boring as I did? | | Until this morning I couldn't quite put my finger on why the presidential debates had made me feel uncomfortable. The candidates seemed so subdued and limited in their responses the debates were more like bad press conferences. Everthing was obviously scripted and limited to a very tight format. This morning I saw a story
on C-Span that explained the lameness of the debates. George Farah, of OpenDebates.com, describes a bipartisan privately funded organization, the Commission on Presidential Debates, that so stringently controls the debate process we can not really see the candidates in action, interacting with one another in any spontaneous way. I think this organization is doing the American people a disservice by exerting such control over the debates. What do you think?

| | Are The Presidential Debates Practical? | | Okay, here we are, in front of the television, watching Barack Obama and John McCain going back and forth with answers to questions posed by Tom Brokaw as well as members of the audience. While this campaign is certainly interesting to watch, and certainly helps to establish a better understanding of these politicians viewpoints, it is also interesting to note how much of their answers address the "working class American" as if they themselves are one.Now let me tell you, I live in Nashville and I drove past Belmont University today. While there is a lot of "pomp and circumstance" surrounding their arrivals, and their choice to hold this debate here, there is also a LOT of money being spent to make this debate happen. I find no fault with this...it IS important that these debates occur so that the American population can get to know our candidates more intimately, but I am perplexed by how much money gets dumped into the campaign trail.I drove past Nashville International Airport this afternoon and saw the huge, commercial jets that have been transformed into their roving headquarters. The massive amount of fuel consumption alone that these vehicles use is monumental, not... | |
| | Three issues you want addressed in the Presidential debates? | | What are three issues that you personally want addressed during the Presidential debates? Forget the media hoopla of issues on global impact, economy etc. and think about the issues that really matter to you. Also, till now has either of the nominees addressed these issues?Cheers!

| | Where Are the Third Party Candidates in these "presidential" debates? | | Once again the incompetent press is holding dog and pony shows they like to call "presidential debates". How can they be considered anywhere close to legitimate if only two choices are allowed to participate. There have been 3rd party debates, but the incompetent press ignores them completely. | |
| | | American Presidential Debates Should NOT Be In Spanish! | | One of the "hot button" issues in the upcoming US Presidential election is the problem we have with illegal immigrants -mainly from Mexico.
So why, oh why, was there a Republican debate held in Spanish?
If you are here legally, you should know English, the primary language used in this country.
If you don't understand English, there is a good chance you are also ineligible to vote or would be unable to understand the ballot.
If there is going to be a Presidential debate in Spanish, wouldn't it only be fair to also hold one in German, Italian, French, Swahili, Chinese, Urdu, Hindi, Japanese, Portuguese, Korean, and all the other languages spoken by people who come to the United States legally?
Why cater to one group of people and not others?
Conservatives are concerned about the drain illegal immigrants put on our society. Most conservatives are also Republicans. So why, oh why, are the Republican candidates now pandering to the language spoken most widely among illegal aliens here?
I would expect this sort of thing from the Democrats, not the GOP.

| | The Presidential Debates - Is It a Level Playing Field? | |
They just had the 10,000th (or it sure seems like it!) Democratic Presidential debate on Thursday night and as with all the ones that came before for either party the pundits spent hours afterward plus most of the next day talking about who won and who lost. The problem is they only focus on the ones the media consider to be the "front-runners" no matter how well the other candidates do and that's so unfair I think. It's already way too much about the money; the debates should be the one forum where the playing field is leveled but that 's not the case. People are easily influenced by what they read and hear and I'm sure even if someone watched every second of a debate it would still be possible for them to be convinced that their perception of who was the "winner" wasn't necessarily an accurate one. Is it just me or does anyone else here feel all the candidates aren't getting a fair shake?
