Being a good spouse, father, or mother entails being responsible, caring, loving, good provider (for fathers, it is a must), trustworthy, thoughtful, and a lot of other characteristics. She send money for us to pay for our tuition and buy our things. But my father spend the money on gambling, derby fighting and he's always busy with his friends drinking. So when its time for our examination day we always write a promissory note to the principal to allow us to take the exam. That was years ago then our parents got separated because of our father being irresponsible. Im 25 now and our father tells us he regret the things he has done in the past, he's living with his 3rd family now. So we grew up only our mother support us. My father send her 3rd wife in college, graduated and now a social worker but we, his three kids didn't receive any support from him when we were studying. Is that unfair? It used to be that parents might "discipline" their children by giving them a spanking, nothing more. I guess I was sort of a brat as a very young kid as I got my fair share of spankings, not from my mother or grandmother, but the "disciplinarian" of the family...my great-grandmother who took care of me while my mother and grandmother worked.Well, today I heard this story of a 52-year old man, James Moss of Staten Island, who suspected that his 9 year old son stole some money from his wallet. | | when the father wants to settle down and the mother doesn't | | what do you think of this situation?the girl just went out with the new guy for a couple of months. she has not given herself before to any of her boyfriends in the past. but this time, she thought he is the one. his descriptions fit perfectly to the one she has prayed for so she thinks he is right for him. though the relationship had its hang ups at first, she thought everything will be alright once they have had s*xual relations.but that one fateful encounter that they had had become fruitful and she had gotten pregnant. however, instead of improving, the relationship got worse. the woman decided to call it quits and decided to face her family and everyone else with her condition. she bravely told her family alone and handled the burden of pregnancy for 9 months until she gave birth. she is now taking care of the baby.the dad is showing up once in a while but has no sense of responsbility. he is like a regular visitor only. what do you think of this situation? | |
| | Are you happy or sad to be a mother/father? | | First, I'd like to wish all moms a happy mothers' day. Are you happy or sad? Why?Before going off to work, my second son(18 years old) said,"Today is mothers' day, what do you want?" I felt happy in a way and yet at the same time, there's a sad, hurt feeling. My youngest son(10) brought my autistic son(12) into the room. I told him in a frustrated tone to just do his own things and not bother about his brother. When they came out, my autistic son said,"Happy mothers' day." I know it's the youngest that had heard the second, so taught the autistic. My eldest had already left for work. My husband had asked in the morning,"Where are they(sons) working?" My sons are working temps so are on and off located at different places. I couldn't answer my husband. It's often the case. I don't know what or where my sons are/doing. It's not that they won't tell me, but rather that I didn't ask. I see my friend would know where her sons are, what they do, even to what time they'll be back. My husband too would always ask and want to know, but unless he asked, I don't do it. See why I'm hurt and sad? I feel I'm just not good enough but that's how I am and I'll feel tired if I have to keep on... | |
