John Adams Mini series.
On July 4th, HBO is re-airing John Adams the mini series. For anyone who enjoys American History should see it.It tells his story very well.So Ladies and gentleman, start your TIVos and DVR's.
Is anyone watching the HBO Miniseries John Adams?
This is a really, really good show. Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney Star in it and the acting, set, story, and costumes are just as good as what you expect from an HBO miniseries. I must admit that I've always been intrigued by John Adams. He was a very interesting man, often overlooked and thought-upon poorly by those of his times, but he had principle and vision and was not afraid to stand up for what he believed in and what he thought was right. Is anyone else watching this show, and if so what do you think of it so far?
John Adams on HBO
If anyone has HBO but has not seen the beginning of this mini-series, this series is definitely worth checking out. I did not expect to like it as I have studied this part of our history countless times in school and I am not a fan of Paul Giamonti in a serious role as I immediately think of him as the Wine Lush from Sideways. But after casually watching it last night, I was blown away. Giamonti is very powerful as John Adams, and I do have to say just the beginning episodes were pretty inspiring even though I thought it would be a boring series about history. It looks like HBO will be having new episodes on Sunday nights but will be re-running them all week long. Its definitely worth checking out as you will be surprised to the quality of this mini-series.Anyone else see John Adam's last night? Any comments?

Book Vs. Movie
Who agrees with me: The movie absolutely ruined the story telling of the book. My mother and I share books and discuss them, and we both found Memoirs a delightful read, and as such, when we heard about the release of the movie we were both eager to view it and compare the two.I have to say, we were sorely disappointed by the adaptation. The film completely changes parts of the story line, and even though it is still a fairly long movie, cuts out (for some reason unknown to me) some of the vital narrations and scenes in order for a coherent story line.I'd love some feedback and other opinions.
Are We Becoming Brain Dead?
We have everything we need nowadays without having to really think anymore. The one I find fascinating at the moment is the Tom Tom which directs us to our destination. I like using a map, reading it wrong and ending up getting lost while arguing constantly with my partner!Do you think we are using our brains less now or not. Do you like all the new technology available or still stick to the old ways of doing things.I do find myself getting lazier and lazier, how about you????
I collect cool things
I want to know what kind of things my mylot friends collect.I collect K Chin prints, especially the owls and unicorns. I have a signed owl hanging in my living room and it is my most prized possession and if there was a fire it is probably the only thing I would try to save. lol. One day I will have a tattoo sleeve dedicated to him and it will be awesome.Do you collect anything? If not, you are a loser. Just kidding.

Peanut Allergies Have TRIPLED In the Last 10 Years?!
Here's a link (below) to an article about it, plus a few excerpts. They really don't know (yet), but I found the explanation of how a perfectly normal system can develop an allergy can happen. I thought you might find it as interesting as I did. Now, the excerpts I promised:"More than 3 million Americans now have some kind of nut allergy, with cases of peanut allergy in children more than tripling between 1997 and 2008, according to a report released this week.""food allergies affect more than 1 to 2 percent of the population and no more than 10 percent.""One idea for the cause called the hygiene hypothesis posits we're too clean.""Other theories include the timing of introduction of the food and how the food is prepared.""...scientists are learning more about how to predict peanut allergy.""Scientists have known infants with a milk or egg allergy are at risk for developing a peanut allergy later in life."http://www.livescience.com/health/peanut-allergy-increase-children-100513.htmlI hope these snippets intrigue you enough to go read the article. More folks than you may realize have allergies to very common foods, & it's on the rise. I've got a...
Aha! I Get It. These (Censored) Blizzards Are Al Gore's Fault!
Has to be! He's the High Muckety-Muck of the Church of Global Warming/Climate Change, right? Well, at the base of their dogma is that Humans Can & Do Affect World-Wide Weather. So, if you take this premise & run with it (as he certainly has, to the tune of millions), then, given his massive efforts to halt "global warming," then I say--it worked! The world lost its ability to let the sun heat it because Al Gore & his minions have reversed the trend, & now we're freezing ourkeisters off!I say we should sue the clown for all the money these blizzards he gave us have caused!Who's with me?Maggiepie "Our Constitution was made only for a moral & religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."~~President John Adams
